Baby Quilt

My new arrival was greeted with a soft quilt of her very own.  I had it finished before her early arrival, but didn't take pictures until my stay in the hospital while she was in the NICU.  It is made based on a tutorial I found on the Moda Bake Shop ("It's a Hoot Baby Quilt").  The "fun" part was figuring out how much fabric to buy and how to cut it because I did not use Moda's pre-cuts.  It turned out great and I don't have a ton of squares and rectangles left over! The red paisley fabric is from Amy Butler's Love line, the white is a Kona solid, and the pink and orange I found at a quilt shop (I think the pink is a Sweetwater print).  The back is a flannel by Anna Maria Horner (possibly Little Folks?) that I found for 20% off; they had just enough for my quilt.

A New Direction

After a substantial journey into blogging, starting in 2005, I've decided to start fresh and start with a direction. My previous writing was all personal-based with a substantial amount of sewing thrown in, now I'd like to focus solely on my love of sewing and crafting. You know, with the occasional bit of other life thrown in! I'd like to show my ideas, progress, finished projects, and inspiration. I'm constantly inspired by all the craft blogs I frequent and I'd like to toss a little inspiration back out into the "cloud" (as my husband likes to call the internet nowadays).
While I have many projects in the works and many projects stored in the dwindling space in my brain, first up, I think might be a "State of the State of my Sewing Room"... or "Why This Mess is Keeping Me From Sewing."
See you back here next week!
